The Word Cutlery

The word cutlery comes from the Old French coutelier, from coutel meaning knife.

The first mention of it in England is in a tax return from 1297. Manufacturing centred around Birmingham and Sheffield until the former concentrated on swords and the latter on knives.

A spork is a cross between a fork and a spoon. A splade is a cross between a knife, fork and spoon — a spork with a blade.

What is your preference when eating? do you prefer to use a spoon or a fork?

Kindly comment, share and like this post.

Use a spoon for our KOBIS Special Rice and a fork for our Moi-Moi plus for lunch today.
